All Neem-ed Out

Ahh!!! Time for organic pesticide!

Love this new spray that I got. It's abt $15 if I don't remember wrongly, considered mid range I guess, cuz there are powerful looking European brand sprays that go up to $50, but I thought I'll just try this one.

And up till now, it sprays beautifully. Powerful and wide spray. Very good.

The peacock flower tree has been getting the sap sucking mealybug which is really annoying. (Mealybugs look like white speck of cotton, so if you don't really look hard enough, its easy to miss or dismiss them as nothing).

What I hate about it is also that it attracts ants due to its apparently sweet secretion. So its kinda of a double whammy. I can accept ants in the garden, its part of the eco system, but too many ants, and that spells trouble!

For the past months, I have been removing every mealybug I see by hand, and I have managed to control the population somewhat.

But I think its time for more action so I gave the whole garden (tomatoes at puberty included) a good spray.

It's totally organic so no need to fear about being poisoned while spraying, or consuming the products.

And hopefully the bitter neem taste on the plants will deter the squirrel too!
