Your photo shows a female Delias hyparete metarete (Painted Jezebel). It's a fairly common native species of S'pore.
Below the said butterfly is a yellowish-white object with black spots. It appears to be the pupa case of this butterfly species. If it's empty, your photo thus shows a newly-eclosed (ie. emerged) butterfly -- in which case, this Painted Jezebel has been with/near you for awhile (as opposed to being a recent morning visitor), & had found your stack of pots to be a sufficiently-secure place to pupate on. If the pupa is intact, it means you're going to have a newly-adult butterfly on your hands soon.
Perhaps your garden or its vicinity has the host plants that the caterpillar feeds on. These include: Rambutan, Mango, Sweetsop, Bilimbing, Coconut, as well as the native mistletoe Dendrophthoe pentandra.

Is the other butterfly the same species as the one featured in your photo ?
